For City projects that completely reconstruct streets, the irrigation systems that are placed in Public Right of Way are typically removed and/or damaged to the extent they need to be replaced/repaired. The existing policy adopted by City Council on 7-17-95 states the abutting property owner is responsible for replacing or reconstructing the irrigation system. If the City Council is inclined to repair/replace the systems at City expense, the preferred method would be to reimburse the property owner for actual costs similar to the Sioux Falls Policy. |
